Abstract

Conclusion: Observed teen birth rates in Milwaukee were not unique among cities. While teen pregnancy prevention efforts in the city may have contributed to reduced birth rates during the intervention, significantly different mean rates but consistent slopes between periods was the typical pattern among cities. Moreover, contribution ratios in all cities demonstrated no change through time and dramatically disparate proportional contributions to total births among racial/ethnic groups.
