Evangelical Health School of Nursing, Oak Lawn, IL: This booklet commemorates the history of Evangelical School of Nursing from 1911-1988. In 1911 the 60-bed German Evangelical Deaconess Hospital was completed, originally located on Morgan Street in Chicago. In 1962, the nursing school moved to the 195-bed Christ Community Hospital in Oak Lawn. The last three-year nursing diploma class graduated in 1988.

- The Oak Lawn land was purchased in 1955. The property was formerly a drive-in.
- In 1972 the original Evangelical Deaconess Hospital was sold to the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
- School of Nursing closed in 1988.

The first hosital opened in 1911 and grew to an organization that at the time of publication, included Christ Hospital and the Evangelical School of Nursing in Oak Lawn, United Church Residences and Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Woodlawn Hospital and Bethany Hospital in Chicago, and the EHA Corporate Headquarters in Oak Brook.
Milestones throughout the years are detailed as well as leadership, world events, and the important role of Deaconesses and Nursing Schools.
