- Water fights among student nurses were a tradition at Chicago's Evangelical Deaconess Nursing School in the early 1900's
- In 1911 income was $3,553,51 compared to 1923 at $133,141.15
- In 1933 nurses received $25 per week for 6.5 days of work
- The Oak Lawn land was purchased in 1955. The property was formerly a drive-in.
- In 1972 the original Evangelical Deaconess Hospital was sold to the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
- School of Nursing closed in 1988.
