Hospital History (Illinois and Wisconsin)

Aurora Psychiatric Hospital began in 1884 as the Milwaukee Sanitarium. It grew from a farm house and some out-buildings to a multi acre complex today with a large hospital and numerous support buildings. Milwaukee Sanitarium was trendsetting with its care when it was established. Aurora Psychiatric Hospital continues that tradition and is proud to be a nationally known and well respected private psychiatric hospital in the 21st century.
