Description

Mr. Gerhard H. Schroeder served as the hospital’s administrator for 33 years, from 1919-1952. He married Sophie Yoerg in 1940. He was President of the hospital, following the death of Dr. Sleyster in 1942. During his tenure, the hospital expanded in size (32 acres) and in capacity (152 beds). His business savvy allowed the hospital to remain a leader in psychiatric care during his tenure. He remained President of the hospital until his death in 1952.
